looks good my friend.. just work your values. if your are working in photoshop, desaturate the color or put in gray scale mode and just work your value structure and a source of light first. it will be easier to work with color after you have the values established. i like the bottom one a little more. i'm not to crazy about his cape looking like a teepee or tent. the silhouette on the bottom is a lot stronger compositionally. you should definitely add a little bit of a landscape in the background. whether it be buildings or trees or machines. just something to give the viewer more info about the character. other than that, you have a good sense of design. just keep working man
